December Faith Formation Checklist

Listen for God’s heart with these podcasts.

In this season of Advent, God invites you to slow down and listen for God’s heart for you. Here are three podcasts to help you enter God’s Presence.

On the Eighth Day

A simple way to read and listen to the lectionary texts each day. On Monday, Nick Throckmorton reads all four texts for the week, then each day Tuesday through Friday, he reads one text per day. A great way to ground yourself in Scripture.

Pray As You Go

Created for commuters, this daily devotional is available each weekday and once each weekend. Daily episodes include prayerful music and a Scripture text read aloud. This podcast features a variety of voices and music from around the world.

5 Minute Prayers from The Invitation

Take five minutes for a mini prayer retreat. Josh Banner leads you through a short prayer practice. You can also find longer retreats of 25-30 minutes on The Invitation podcast.

You can also find these through your favorite podcast app.

As we await the mystery of the Incarnation this Advent season, may you be ready to hear God’s invitation for you.

Shana Peachey Boshart is conference minister for Christian formation for Central Plains Mennonite Conference and curator of www.AnabaptistFaithFormation.org. Each month, Shana will be providing us with a list of Christian faith formation resources for use at church, in your community and at home.
